“The hell are you–”
Eren took a step back, alarm bells blaring loudly in his head. He couldn’t read the expression on Levi’s face – not that he ever could when it came to the mob boss – but there was something scarier about it. Something that Eren couldn’t pin point, and that was what scared Eren the most. That and the fact that said mob boss was closing in on the teenage delinquent, and there was no where for Eren to run, only a wall that met his back.
He bared his teeth and growled, all of his defenses raised in warning, everything about his body posture indicating he was ready for a fight. “Back off. One more step, I’m warning you–”
Levi clicked his tongue, disregarding Eren’s threat completely. If it was anyone else, they’d probably back off, too afraid to rile up this dangerous beast. If it was anyone else, they’d have high tailed it long ago. But Levi wasn’t just anyone. Levi wasn’t going to let this beautiful creature run away, oh no.
“I said, back off!” Eren snarled all teeth and ferocity. It thrilled Levi.
“Or what?” Levi asked, the distance no longer there, just a wall of anger and rage and distrust; just the suspicious nature of a beast and the hand of human curiosity reaching for it. “I won’t hurt you.”
Eren flinched at the fingers that touched his cheek.
“I would never hurt you,” Levi said, tone dark and serious, but coaxing, ever coaxing the complacent kitten that hid beneath layers of claws.
“What’re you–” but the words died because suddenly Levi was tugging Eren’s head down, low enough that he could settle lips against his forehead.
The corners of Levi’s lips crooked upward, feeling the walls that surrounded Eren give away just a teeny, tiny bit. “My little kitten.”
“What was that?” Eren asked, too disoriented by the small display of affection.
“Nothing.”
